Take the Ferry
The Windermere Car Ferry runs all year round every 20 minutes, a short crossing from Bowness leads you to our side of the lake. Simply drive up the hill from the ferry landing, following the signs to Hawkshead and you will find us at the top of the hill on the right hand side. To board the ferry you must purchase a ticket from the machine prior to boarding. You must have the correct change ready, £4.40 for a car, 50p for foot passenger. The machine will also accept card. 

Drive via Newby Bridge
Coming off the A590 at Newby Bridge take the road leading down the Westside of the lake, follow the road along the lake shore passing through Lakeside and Graythwaite. The road will offer you directions to Hawkshead, follow these. Once you arrive in Hawkshead you will see signs directing you the Car Ferry, follow these signs are you will pass through the village of Near Sawrey and a further mile on you will find us on your left hand side. 

Drive via Ambleside
Coming into Ambleside follow the road directions to Hawkshead. The road to Hawkshead is lovely drive through beautiful Lake District country side. The drive should take around 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Hawkshead you will see signs directing you the Car Ferry, follow these signs are you will pass through the village of Near Sawrey and a further mile on you will find us on your left hand side.
